About Ashley Crouse
Ashley Crouse was an IU student who graduated from Carmel High School in 2002 with such
accolades as Student Body President, Homecoming Queen, and student athlete. She was killed in
a car accident at Indiana University in 2005. She touched the lives of many people around her
which was apparent by the parade of mourners that extended more than 3 full blocks outside of the
Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority house less than 24 hours after her passing.
In honor of Ashley, there was a memorial scholarship created at Carmel High School with an initial
lump sum donation. The scholarship is given to a student who has a GPA of 3.4 or higher, must be
involved in student government and be committed to making a positive difference in the lives of
others. As many of you know, memorial scholarships often get lost and forgotten as time passes. Our goal is to ensure that the scholarship continues for years to come and to ensure that Ashley’s
unselfish legacy lives on. |
About Rajeev Ram
Rajeev Ram graduated with Ashley Crouse from Carmel High School in 2002
and was a dear friend of hers. With the Crouse Family’s permission, Rajeev
approached the HCCTA (Hamilton County Community Tennis Association) in
an effort to put together an event to honor Ashley and to help the scholarship
in her name.
Rajeev currently plays on the ATP Tour and is ranked #56 in the
world in doubles and #117 in the 2008 ATP singles race. Already this year, he has played Rafael Nadal (#2 in the world) and he beat the #5 seed of the
doubles draw at the Australian Open. Last year, he reached the Quarterfinals
of the doubles draw at Wimbledon. |

email Colin Atkinson at catkinson@hccta.org with your bid. Your email must include your name,
phone number, bid amount, and what item you are bidding on. Winners will be contacted Monday,
May 5th and announced via website link on the HCCTA webpage. |
